This could benefit from a discussion of when it is and when it isn't useful or practical to apply the technique described.

It helps with serialization, and optimization in cases like deep learning frameworks. In other cases I think it smacks of overengineering. If you need a representation of a function along with its arguments to pass to other systems, then do it as needed. Otherwise, YAGNI.
